Outta Sight
Wed Aug 20 - 9pm @ The Edinburgh Castle (950 Geary)
Campo Bravo
Beatbeat Whisper
Donald Meints (Reduced to Ruin)
B and Not B
Campo Bravo and Beatbeat Whisper have both been a part of our shows before, Campo with their country-influenced psych rock and Beatbeat, the harmonizing brother-sister duo playing unique folk the way it should be. Also in this show is the solo Donald Meints of the wonderful Reduced to Ruin, and B and Not B, keyboardist of the Young Moderns and practitioner of Immersion Composition Society techniques.
Take a peep at the little article the fine folks over at The Bay Bridged wrote about this upcoming show: This link will take you to the article on The Bay Bridged about Outta Sight
Not to mention that this may be the last Outta Sight show in this format for awhile. If you can make it, you should make it.
Oh, and of course, if you didn’t catch the wonderful mini-documentary about the night, check it out below:
I want everybody, to clap your hands, in this group. Put on your red dress, baby. And come out and enjoy some fine records as spun by myself and Raul Sanchez. Yes, that’s Outta Sight vs. Penny Arcade, for your listening pleasure! This Friday Aug 1, DJ TS hosts Errly @ The Beauty Bar (SF) featuring Raul Sanchez and Nathan Moomaw, 6pm-10pm.

Playing tunes representative of our respective nights, we’ll be grooving the Errly crowd with 60s rock, psychedelic, soul, folk, world, indie, pop and whatever else suits the fancy. The mellowest DJ battle ever? Maybe. I may even take it down so low that you’ll be wishing you were sipping purple stuff and taking like a 45 at 33!
Speaking of Outta Sight. We’re gearing up for our first year anniversary. It is confirmed and even true, we have thrown a show, every month for the past 12 months! So to celebrate… well, we be having another show:
Outta Sight - 1 Year Anniversary!

Absolutely far out!
And be sure to check out the promotional documentary about Outta Sight that Brad Robertson so beautifully and courteously created for us:

Otherwise, in other portions of my brain, other than this and other than that, Miwa and I are currently booking a Sept/Oct US/Canada tour. It should be a really good one, but we can use your help. So if you know us and like us and live somewhere you’d like to see us, please drop me a line and help me with bookings!

Outta Sight
Wed July 16th - 9pm
@ The Edinburgh Castle (950 Geary St)
featuring:
Coloring
Ruthann Friedman
Helene Renaut
Coloring will be playing at this coming Outta Sight show and sharing the stage with two lovely songstresses. We are pleased to present Ruthann Friedman, a wonderful songwriter who has been involved with the folk scene since the start in the 60s. Most notably, she wrote the song “Windy”, as popularized by The Association, but all of her songs stand to teach what folk music really is. Helene Renaut, who has graced the Outta Sight stage before, will also be playing her lovely and unique style of French-tinged folk pop that will draw sunsets on the inside of your eyelids. And Coloring will be bringing our usual blend of country and psych, playing some new tunes as well.
Gazebo Music now features a brand new podcast from Homesick Elephant. The lovely duo came through San Francisco during tour and I was able to play the wonderful July 4th Fort Gallery Folk Fest with them. The next morning we got brunch together and then came back to my apartment to record the first in a series of Gazebo Sessions. These sessions will feature local and touring bands of influence in the like-minded music community. Just as Homesick Elephant did, the bands will come over to my house and casually chat and play music into a single recording source. I am quite happy with how well this first episode came out and I highly encourage everyone to take a chance to check it out:
