Last Friday a lovely bunch of Bay Area artists and friends crammed themselves into every square inch of Tory’s house in Mission/Potrero with an unlikely amount of drinks and treats, even for that crowd, and rowdily sang along to eachother’s songs next to a plastic tree and decorations aplenty.
Below is a Youtube playlist (also found on Youtube here: Outta Sight Holiday) with 13 holiday songs, some original and some traditional, from 13 stellar artists. You should be able to press play and pretend you’re there, working towards the gift of a holiday headache, as we all felt the next day!
Let’s face it, these songs go well with alcohol. You can navigate through the songs with this Youtube widget.
If you want even more holiday music, you can always go to and download last year’s holiday show:

I have some new videos up on Youtube from my touring travels. Originally, I was to write a proper tour summary, but there’s so much more to do. So much, so much. If you haven’t already checked out the real gone Tour Journal you should waste a few minutes doing so. It’s full of all the art that you may have put into it when I came and played in your town this past November, totally unedited and full of what exists out there when one travels around:
It’s better than photos and it may be better than videos, but here’s some anyway:
Moomaw (featuring Dusty Di) at Penny Arcade at The Makeout Room in San Francisco
Moomaw in a Yuba City prune orchard, playing Summer Hands to the sunset
Black Forest plays the same orchard, a song called Not Like You Think I Am
Yoko Kikuchi plays By The Trees, by the trees of the orchard
A Fermata plays Chlorophyll, soused with wine, later that night in a rose vineyard in Healdsburg
Moomaw up in Portland playing All The Pieces Of Fire with animals doing things in the background
If you’re thirsty for more holiday things to do please check out Neil Martinson’s Holiday SMiLE on Monday Dec 21 @ The Knockout!
Anna Morley composed a beautiful piece of poppy ambient-lounge and called it “Character”. A collection of sounds made by vibraphone, synthy keyboards, violin, mellow 808ish drums, guitar, harmonica, indistinguishable vocals, ukulele and more weave these lush, yet jovial tunes together. Today, this 5 song EP is made available for the first time at the official CD Release. Released on Gazebo Music, it will soon be available on CDBaby and other various digital stores. Tonight, however, you should come out and get yourself one, as well as listen to it performed in entirety by a lovely slew of Barcelona artists:

Open fields make wonderful bed-fellows and the swallows will forever scribble jibberish in the sky.
I would like to introduce you to my new country-western duet project featuring the lovely Miss Ciara Carruthers. Together we are Fried Rabbits, a sweet marriage of country and folk to bring you back to freedom and the farm. Please take some time to visit our new myspace page where we have several beautifully-rough-recorded original songs and a cover of a Lee Hazlewood tune:
Tonight (Wed Sept 9) we will be playing some of said country songs at 7Sins near Universitat in Barcelona:

If you don’t live in Barcelona, you probably don’t know about Sexy Beer, as in, Sexy Beer, the band. If you’ve been to Barcelona and spent some time drinking in the streets, you may know about “sexy beer”, as in the words the people who sell beer in the streets use to sell you beer (along with “cerveza beer”, “sexy beer, my dear”, and “esta muy fría”). It’s quite Barcelona, and us here tend to love it. In naming the “skiffle” band formed with Ben Paddick (guitar), Anna Morley (vibraphone, violin, melodica, harmonica), and myself (uke, saw, voice), we turned to the purveyors of convenience who happily provide beer to the thirsty masses that inhabit the hot streets at all hours of the night.
Sexy Beer, an improvisational band with a bit of a gypsy jazz folk feel now have a myspace here: www.myspace.com/sexybeermydear
And some videos from a past performance:
Drink up and enjoy!
