Coloring & Upstairs Downstairs ~ Two Gazebo Music albums for your summer love!
Tuesday, June 29th, 2010Today births a psychedelic country EP as well as a boot-gazing indie-pop album, both set to soundtrack your summer flings and other sunny things. So before you lay yourself into your favorite park, a backwards sensation tumbling into the grass, or chasing waves underneath the rays, please take a listen and get some lovely tunes stuck in your head.
Coloring : Start Coloring ~ The anticipated and debut album from San Francisco’s psych-country duo, Coloring. Layers and layers of many-a folk instrument iced with close harmonies and unison to a point where the singers themselves can’t distinguish their own voices in the mix. Only four, but long and involved songs of philosophical non-importance or simply unison itself.
Upstairs Downstairs : Inland And Out ~ Introducing Upstairs Downstairs, the new indie-pop / shoegaze with their boots in folk, country and classic rock and roll. This record is certainly one to strike you first and then grow on you later.

Beautifulled Illusions Tour
Thursday, February 11th, 2010If you find yourself in California within the next 2 weeks, beware a band of misfits, possibly wandering roadside or speaking with the trees. Moomaw (including tabla player, Dale Means) will be traveling around playing music, causing havoc, with Mark Matos & Os Beaches. If you see a far out transvan, flag it down and hop in for some Beautifulled Illusions!
The kickoff show is with Little Wings and Apache Thunderbolt @ Hemlock Tavern on Wed Feb 17, 9:00pm. A proper ceremony will take place, a summoning of songs of the shaman.
Otherwise, the new Moomaw record is finished and ready to release on March 9. Check out the Moomaw myspace to listen to a few songs off this wild album.
Otherly otherwise, shortly after return from the Beautifulled Illusions Tour, Moomaw will be heading out of the country once again, this time with That Blasted Hound (Davyd Nereo of Beatbeat Whisper and Winnie Byrd). We will be trouncing through Spain, France, Holland, Germany and Italy. Pangealogical, you say? PANGEALOGICAL!

A preview of the upcoming Moomaw record, “Pirate of This Bottled Ship”, is now available for free download as it appears on an Ondarock compilation entitled “OndaDrops Vol.1: Do you know the way to blue?”. Please take a moment to download the whole compilation, as it is lovely and I’m very proud to be a part of it. There are some wonderful words written in Italian as well. I’ve been told what they mean and hope that hope that the lovely Italian-speaking bird who whispered them into my ear before she flew away wasn’t coating them with any of her sugar.
